As the Ethernet and Wifi solutions for Arduino become cheaper and increasingly easier to use, its never been a better time to take advantage of features that can be provided with a web server. Over the coming weeks, a variety of online support tools for embedded systems will be made available here. These include:
This tool provides server-side support for IP information. Useful when NAT routing causes network hiding.
This tool can be used with simple devices like Arduino Ethernet. Useful for system alerts, or instant messaging. This tool seemed easier to work with than trying to implement a full e-mail protocol on the Arduino. This tool is in a test stage for now.
This tool provides online access to a time source. If you use an Ethernet shield, you can remove the need for an RTC with this tool.
The storage tool will allow devices to store data up to a predetermined size. This will have all sorts of applications as things like: logging systems, resource bin for LCD's, cloud style sharing and many other possibilities. This tool is in a test stage for now.
Once the hardware is setup, this tool will be able to provide strings of true random numbers.
As an Arduino enthusiast I have spent some time designing ways to do particular things effectivly on a small microcontroller. Here is a selection of my own modules. ( Coming Soon )
Many Arduino users may not fully understand the capabilities of their device. Although a lot of projects are achievable using the standard Arduino core, some projects may require a lower level of control over the hardware. By utilizing the data sheets and feature specific information, users can create applications which can get those few steps closer to their products maximum potential.
Below I have compiled a listing of the standard Arduino products. Each listing includes a link to the official reference page for the board in question, also you will find links to data sheets for the major components on the boards.
